Available Schema Types
Organizational and Core Pages
Schema Type | Description |
AboutPage | Use for an "About Us" page, describing your organization. |
ContactPage | Use for a "Contact Us" page that lists information like phone numbers, address, hours, etc. |
ProfilePage | Designed for pages that describe a specific person, like a user profile or "Meet the Team" page. |
WebPage | The most generic type. Use this if the page doesn't fit into a more specific category (though usually, you want to be more specific if possible). |
Blog Content and Articles
| Schema Type | Description |
| Article | For news reports, investigative pieces, or general articles. |
BlogPosting
| For use on blog posts. |
CreativeWork
| The "ancestor" type for all creative content (books, movies, etc.). It’s rarely used on its own; usually, you'd use a more specific subtype. |
PressRelease
| Used for official statements or announcements intended for the media. |
Products and Commerce
| Schema Type | Description |
| Product | Used for a page dedicated to a specific item for sale. It helps search engines display prices, availability, and ratings in search results. |
| Review | Used when a page provides an evaluation of something (a book, a movie, a restaurant). This often triggers "star ratings" in Google. |
| Service | Similar to Product, but for intangible offerings (like "Plumbing" or "Consulting"). |
Lists and Collections
| Schema Type | Description |
| CollectionPage | Used for a "hub" page that lists multiple related items, such as links to various categories, projects, or portfolios. |
| ImageGallery | For pages that primarily consist of an Image Gallery block. |
| ItemList | Describes a text list of items (like a "Top 10" list or list of services) rather than just a collection of links. |
Entities
| Schema Type | Description |
| Event | Used on a page dedicated to one specific event. |
| FAQPage | For pages primarily used to display a "Frequently Asked Question" section. |
| JobPosting | Used for individual career pages describing a specific job opening, including salary and responsibilities. |
| Person | A page describing one individual. For example, a profile page that's linked from a larger "Our Team" page. |
Place | Describes a physical location, such as a business, landmark, or city. |
