Change the Text in a Browser Tab

You can customize both the title text that appears in your browser's tabs and the page's URL slug directly within your page settings.

By default, the tabs will display the page title along with your site title. Your site title is automatically appended to the end of your page title for every page on your website by default - however, you can turn this off if desired.

 

Change a tab's text on a per-page basis

To change the text that appears in the tab on a specific page, navigate to the Pages tab at the top of your dashboard, then navigate to the page that you would like to change. On the right-hand side, click on SEO & Sharing. In the box labeled Title Tag, enter the text that you would like to appear.

Click Publish to make the changes public.

Navigate to the Settings panel (the gear icon at the top of your dashboard), then click on SEO.

To change your site title (ideally, it should be your business name), type in the desired text in the box labeled Site title. Click Publish to make the changes public.
To prevent your site title from appearing on all of the tabs of your website, navigate to the Search Settings section, then unselect the button next to Append business name/site title to tag.

Change a page's URL slug

You can customize the URL slug (the web address path following your domain, such as /our-story in (https://yourwebsite.com/our-story)) on any individual page.
  1. Navigate to the Pages tab at the top of your dashboard and select the page you want to update.
  2. Click SEO & Sharing on the right-hand side.
  3. In the box labeled Slug, type your preferred path using lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens.

  4. Click Publish to apply the change to your live site.
AlertNote on Changing Live Slugs: Changing a page's URL slug changes its web address. If the page is already indexed by search engines or linked elsewhere, update any internal links pointing to it and set up a 301 redirect from the old URL to the new URL to preserve SEO rankings and traffic.
