Troubleshooting Issues on Custom Hosted Websites

Troubleshooting Issues on Custom Hosted Websites

Custom Hosting sites refer to custom-designed websites that are built on the WordPress Content Management System (CMS) or our Woo360 platform (WordPress-built sites with WooCommerce functionality) that are hosted on our servers. Websites built on these platforms often contain custom coding or other advanced functionality that is not compatible with the Websites 360® platform.

Functionality of Custom Hosting Sites

Unlike Websites 360® sites, which are built on a proprietary website building platform, websites utilizing the "Custom Hosting" product are built on the WordPress CMS. Here are some key differences between Websites 360® sites and custom hosted sites:

Websites 360® Custom Hosting (WordPress and Woo360)
Cannot be re-hosted on another hosting server Can package up site files to host with another hosting provider
Not compatible with WordPress plugins Compatible with WordPress plugins
Does not require PHP updates

Requires updating the PHP version periodically

From time to time, you may be required to update your website's PHP version, or update your website's various plugins. You are notified upon logging in to your website if/when your PHP version or a plugin needs to be updated.

The team at Marketing 360® does not monitor if/when your PHP version or plugin requires an update, so it is important to log in to your website often to make sure everything is up to date.

Troubleshooting Website Issues

One consequence of using a custom website is that certain elements may lose effectiveness or stop working altogether as the internet evolves. Internet browsers and operating systems often release software updates - sometimes, these updates may not always be compatible with some of the custom features or the plugins on your website.

If any custom-built features or widgets on your website are not working properly, then you have two options to troubleshoot:

  1. You can troubleshoot the issue on your own for no extra charge.
  2. The Marketing 360® team can troubleshoot and diagnose the issue for you with a $200.00 diagnostic charge.
    • However, after the diagnosis, it may be required to purchase additional Creative Credits to fix the issue, depending on the work needed.
    • If we find that the issue is due to technology on our end, then we can refund the diagnostic fee.

If you are unsure whether a given website issue is due to a custom feature breaking or due to an in-platform setting, you can contact our Support Team. If the issue can be solved by changing some settings within your website dashboard, then our Support Team can help walk you through the solution. You can also look at our Woo360 support resources for more information.
