Create and Edit Social Posts

Create and Edit Social Posts

Learn how to create and edit social media posts within the Social app. This guide covers adding media, writing captions with AI, and scheduling or publishing your content.

1. Launching the Content Creation Process

To begin creating a new post, story, or cover image, simply click the Create button located in the bottom-right corner of the Social app. A dialog box will appear, letting you select the type of content you want to create: a Post, Story, or Cover Photo.

Need inspiration? Use the AI-powered text generator tool to create a post based on the information in your Brand Profile.

2. Building Your Post

After choosing your content type, a modal will open to guide you through the creation process.

Name and Platform Selection

  1. First, give your content a Name to help you identify it in your Content Library.
  2. Next, select the social platforms and accounts where you want to post. Your default accounts selected on the Linked Accounts tab of Brand Settings will be pre-selected.

Add Media

You can add media to your post in a few different ways:
  • Images:

    • Upload: Drag and drop or select image files from your computer.

    • Stock Images: Import free stock images from Pexels.

    • Canva: Import images created via Canva.

You can add up to 10 images total. Drag and drop them to change the order.

Edit Images: Click the pencil icon on an image to edit it. You can resize, add filters, adjust colors, add text, and more.

You can implement the following edits on images:

  • Resizing
  • Adding filters
  • Adjusting saturation, highlights, shadows, etc.
  • Blurring/adding a focus
  • Adding a frame
  • Adding an overlay
  • Adding text
  • Adding stickers/emoticons
  • Using a brush

  • Video:

    • Select the Video media type and upload an MP4 file.

    • Use the video scrubber to choose a thumbnail image.

    • Enter a Video Title for the post. If you don't, the first caption will be used as the title.

  • URL:

    • Select the URL media type and enter a link. The website image, title, and description will automatically populate, but you can edit them.

Add Captions

You can create your captions manually or with the help of AI.
  • Manual Captions:

    • Enter your caption in the text box. A character counter will show you if you've exceeded a platform's limit.
    • Use the emoji picker or saved hashtag groups to add emojis and hashtags.
    • Platform-Specific Captions: Toggle this option to create a unique caption for each social platform.
  • CaptionAI:

    • Select CaptionAI to generate captions using AI.

    • Choose a Tone and specify the number of captions you want to generate.

    • Enter a prompt to instruct the AI on what to write about.

    • Toggle options to include emojis and hashtags.

    • Click on the Generate Captions button to generate the captions.

    • A modal with the resulting captions will be displayed, and you will have the opportunity to select any of them that you wish to keep. Click on Regenerate Captions in the lower right of the modal if you'd like to see different options. Click on the Select Captions to import the selected captions to your Content.

    • Once the generated captions have been imported, you may then manually edit them as desired.

  • Tag Social Profiles or Pages:

    • You can tag pages on other social platforms in your captions. Note: All platforms (except for X/Twitter) can only generate tags for business accounts/pages, not personal accounts.

3. Content Settings and Finalization

Before publishing, you can set a few final options for your content.
  • Require Approval:

Toggle this on if your content needs to be approved by another user before it can be posted.

  • Recycle Content:

Toggle this on to have the post automatically published multiple times. If you have multiple captions, the system will cycle through them for each post.
  • Add Content Tags:

Use tags to group and identify your content, which can be useful for filtering later.
  • Add collaborators:

On Instagram posts, you can add up to three collaborators to your Instagram posts directly within the social post scheduler. When published, the post appears on both profiles, sharing likes, comments, and reach.

To add a collaborator:
  1. Click on the "Add collaborator" button when creating an Instagram post.

  2. Type the account name you want to add (up to 3) and select the accounts you want to add. Business accounts will automatically be searched for, while personal accounts must be typed manually.

  3. Click Confirm to add the account(s).

Finally, check for any warnings displayed above the action buttons. Warnings can alert you to issues like unsupported media types or captions that exceed character limits.

When you're ready, you have three options:

  • Save: Save your content without posting.

  • Save & Schedule: Schedule the post to go live at a later time.

  • Save & Post Now: Publish the content immediately.
