1. Create a YouTube Brand Channel
In order to use your YouTube channel to promote a business, you need to set up a branded YouTube channel. Branded channels allow for multiple managers and provide a dedicated identity for your business, separate from your personal account.
Check Your Channel Type
To determine if your channel is personal or branded:
Navigate to your YouTube Settings page.
Look for the setting: Add or remove manager(s).
Branded Channel: If you see this setting, you have a branded channel.
Personal Channel: If you do not see this setting, you have a personal channel.
Turn a Personal Channel into a Branded Channel
You can move your personal channel to a Brand Account, converting it into a branded channel.
Navigate to your YouTube Settings page.
In the section labeled Your channel, select View advanced settings.
Select Move channel to a brand account.
Follow the prompts to verify your Google login details to complete the process.
2. Give Marketing 360® Manager Access
To allow your Success Manager to manage your Branded YouTube Channel, you must grant them specific permissions. This process requires you to be signed in as the owner of the Brand Account.
Sign In: On YouTube, sign in as the owner of the Brand Account.
Go to Settings: In the top right corner of the page, click your user icon, then select Settings from the dropdown menu.
Access Permissions: Under the "Account" section, select Add or remove manager(s).
Click Manage permissions.
Re-authenticate: Enter your password or use your preferred verification method (e.g., security key, text message) when prompted to re-authenticate your account.
Invite New User: Click the button labeled Invite new users.
Enter Details:
Enter the following email address: M360+youtube@madwiremedia.com
Below the email field, choose their role as Manager.
Click the Invite button, then click Done when complete.
Your Success Manager will now receive an email invitation to accept the Manager role for your channel.
